Starting with a review of the Faculties and student needs a brand new site was created bringing to life the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Graduate Studies (FOGS) website.
Solutions
- FoGS was in need of a major overhaul, students were having a hard time finding relevant content as it was organized by functional units
- There was a large amount of content on the site that was over eight years old and never revisited
- The design was out of date and did not incorporate UBC’s Common Look & Feel (CLF)
- There were no channels for new media and social applications
- Graduate programs and awards database integration
- Main UBC calendar events integrated with the FoGS calendar
- Site hosted at UBC
- Implemented a Drupal CMS to plan and develop a long-term recruitment and social engagement strategy for prospective students, while balancing the needs of current students, alumni and staff
- Created user friendly, audience driven navigation with filters for awards, programs, deadlines, FAQs and forms
- Developed workflow for content creation and approval as well as revision cycles for content management
- Implemented UBC’s CLF, creating a Drupal theme to be reused for future UBC project
Phase II includes Campus Wide Login (CWL) integration, Drupal conversion of International Evaluation Manual, social media applications and increased interactive applications.
